Our selection process is intentionally comprehensive. It starts with a series of conversations where we get to know you: your character, your theology, and your vision for the church you’re called to plant. From there, our team walks through several stages together to determine if SLN is the right fit for you, and to make sure you’re equipped for the road ahead.
We’re looking for spiritually mature, action-oriented leaders who lead themselves, their families, and others with integrity. Our church planters have a passion to launch strong with a robust launch team and a heart for multiplication.
Partners are churches, organizations, and individual donors who feel called to fuel church planting and realize new churches are still the most effective way to reach the lost.
When you partner with SLN, you’re not just writing a check. You’re joining a network with a focused mission, a proven track record, and a turnkey approach that lets you invest in Kingdom impact across the country without carrying the operational weight yourself. It’s an investment with a legacy of life change for the lost who meet Jesus, the families who get equipped, and the communities who are blessed.

SLN grew out of a single church plant. In 2002, Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Texas, under founder Steve Stroope, supported a leader’s call to plant in New York City. That plant’s impact sparked a wider vision, and in 2007 Strategic Launch Network was formally established as it’s own 501c3.
Today SLN operates as its own network, partnering with churches and leaders from a range of backgrounds who share a commitment to planting in strategic cities.
Head to the Partner page and complete our interest form. Someone from our team will follow up to talk through what partnership could look like for you.
Start at the Plant page and complete the form. That kicks off a conversation with our team, where we’ll get to know your story and calling and help you understand what the process ahead looks like.
We focus on major North American cities that are strategically significant but historically hard to reach with the gospel, places without a strong Christian presence.
SLN churches are currently planted or planting in cities like New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, Portland, and Montreal, among others. In 23 years, the network has planted over 90 churches with a 95%+ success rate.
SLN is funded by generous partners: churches, organizations, and individual donors who give specifically to fuel new church plants. Every dollar gifted by partners goes directly to church planting. All overhead costs for SLN have been generously covered.
SLN isn’t tied to a single denomination. Our churches come from a range of denominational backgrounds, united by a shared, theologically conservative commitment to the gospel.
Every planter’s timeline looks different, since it depends on calling, context, and readiness. Once a planter is selected, SLN journeys with them through assessment and strategy, into launch, and beyond. Planters typically receive coaching and financial support through their first three years, with an ongoing relationship after that as their church continues to grow and multiply.
Yes. SLN has planted more than 90 churches across strategic cities in North America, and many of them are listed with contact information and websites right on the SLN site. Please check out our MAP to find an SLN church near you.
